Integrated Lighting Campaign Encourages Lighting Sustainability

by | Apr 19, 2022 | 0 comments |

The new Integrated Lighting Campaign (ILC) is gathering research and providing resources to businesses to advance their lighting and promote energy efficient lighting practices. This campaign is being promoted by the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Buildings Initiative. Axel Pearson from the DOE gave insight on the new campaign and how others can take part in it.
“The campaign is managed by a team of advanced lighting experts at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory who are passionate about energy efficiency, design, and functionality,” said Pearson. “They are available to provide third-party, expert guidance to ILC participants to support them in choosing, deploying, integrating, and managing their lighting system. We’ll consult on best practices from commissioning to installation to maintenance.”
People can also simply join the campaign as a participant or supporter. Participants can submit applications, with a brief description of their buildings size and its lighting system, to the campaign and they can receive recognition for their efforts in a number of categories like “Integrated Lighting and horticultural Controls,” and “Innovative Maintenance, operation and Financing Service Models.” Both categories were recently added this year.
